Are you looking for a fun and easy jewelry project? Why not explore the world of crafting by making your very own oversized round bead statement earrings? These earrings not only offer a touch of individuality and elegance but also serve as wonderful, personalized gifts. Whether you're going for a laid-back look or gearing up for a special event, these earrings can complement any outfit.

In this guide, I used navy cord-wrapped large beads, but you can also create your unique yarn-wrapped large beads using the method outlined in my previous post, "DIY Earrings Tutorial - Yarn-Wrapped Magic: Creating Unique Wooden Bead Earrings."

With a little time and a dash of patience, you'll be crafting an elegant and unique pair of earrings. I hope you find as much joy in making them as I do!

Creating Navy Cord-Wrapped Ball Bead Earrings
Navy cord-wrapped ball earrings step-by-step instructions
Instructions:
  1. Gather your materials.
  2. Thread one 4-mm metal bead (antique brass), one 10-mm CCB disc bead, one 16-mm navy cotton-wrapped ball bead, one 10-mm CCB disc bead, and one 10-mm CCB round bead in that order onto a T-pin.
  3. If the T-pin is longer than desired, trim it to leave approximately 10 mm (⅜”) above the last bead.
  4. Bend the trimmed end of the T-pin wire at about 45-degree angle right above the bead.
  5. Using round-nose pliers, create an eye pin loop just above the 10-mm round bead.
  6. Open the loop at the base of the earring hook using pliers.
  7. Slide the open loop of your completed earring component onto the opened loop of the earring hook.
  8. Close the loop on the earring hook securely using the round-nose pliers.
  9. Repeat these steps to create the second earring.

Transform ordinary plastic grocery bags into charming, eco-friendly napkin rings with this DIY tutorial. With a handful of plastic grocery bags and some simple crafting supplies, you can create natural and stylish napkin rings. It's a quick and creative way to add a rustic touch to your dining experience.

Creating a napkin ring using plastic grocery bags
Step-by-step instructions for jute wrapped napkin rings using plastic grocery bags
Instructions:
  1. Prepare plastic grocery bags.
  2. Cut both sides of the plastic bag to form a long rectangular shape.
  3. Fold the plastic bag into thirds, and then cut it into three equal pieces.
  4. Layer the three pieces on top of each other, then fold them in half. Cut them in half to create narrower strips.
  5. Repeat the previous step twice more to create additional strips. Tape the top of the strips together to create a large tassel.
  6. If you have a clipboard, attach the top of the strips to it for easier braiding. Divide the strips into three equal sections and start a 3-strand braid. Continue braiding until the braid reaches a length of about 7 inches. Cut off any excess plastic bag strips and tape the ends together to secure.
  7. You will need two braids for the napkin ring. Line up the two braids next to each other. Tape the ends and certain sections to secure the two braids, creating a smooth surface for wrapping.
  8. Leaving about 1 inch free, apply fabric glue along the plastic braid. Begin wrapping jute cord around the braid, securing it with glue.
  9. Keep wrapping and leave about 1 inch at the end of the plastic braid.
  10. Tape the two braid ends together to form a ring shape.
  11. Wrap the entire plastic braid with jute cord until it is completely covered.
  12. Trim any excess jute cord. Apply a final layer of fabric glue to secure the jute cord and yarn in place.

Please note that any crafts or DIY projects should be attempted with caution.

In most locations, plastic bags, wraps, and films cannot be recycled in curbside bins, but many local retail stores offer drop-off points for recycling them. Check online for drop-off locations near you, and you may find stores like Target that provide recycling bins for plastic bags, films, and wraps, contributing to efforts in reducing plastic waste and promoting a greener environment.
